Festival del Huerto Casero- May 2 – May 4
The Festival of Home Gardening and Sustainable Agriculture will be held at the Coliseo Fernando “Rube” Hernández in Gurabo. Its mission is to educate the public on key agricultural topics such as vegetable gardening, composting, minimal tillage, and pest management, while offering trustworthy information in a fun and engaging environment. This year’s edition features new workshops and conferences, along with hands-on activities focused on hydroponic systems, fruit tree cultivation, beekeeping, and grafting techniques. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations on planting vegetables in pots and hydroponics, while children can participate in interactive activities like vegetable-themed cartoon drawing and step-by-step planting.
